Family Tours for Incoming Kindergarteners
Will your child be 5 years old by August 31? Do you know of a kindergartener that will be in kindergarten at B.F. Day in the 25-26 school year? We are excited to welcome them!
Incoming Kindergarten Tours
- January 10: Incoming Kindergarten Tour from 9 – 10 a.m.
- January 23: Incoming Kindergarten Tour from 9 – 10 a.m.
- January 29: Incoming Evening Kindergarten Tour from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.
Resource Information
Current Students in Kindergarten – Grade 5 do not need to re-enroll for the 2025-26 school year. Students will be promoted to the next grade level at B.F. Day. If you know that your family will be moving or changing schools in the 2025-26 school year, please email Ms. Sonja at smhaas@seattleschools.org. This information helps us in our preliminary budget and staffing process.

Kindergarten SPS Registration Information
New student registration begins January 6, 2025 for the 2025-26 school year. All registration is completed online. Have Questions? Visit us at the John Stanford Center, 2445 3rd Ave S, Seattle, 98134. Mon – Fri, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Language assistance in Spanish, Oromo, Chinese, Vietnamese, Amharic, and Somali is available.
Key Enrollment Dates
- January 6 New registrations for 2025-26 school year begins.
- February 1 Admissions Fair will be held at the John Stanford Center.
- February 1 – February 28 Open Enrollment School Choice priority applications will be accepted (tiebreakers apply).
- March 1 – May 31 School Choice late applications will be accepted (NOT eligible for tiebreakers).
- April 22 Open Enrollment results will be available online.
- June 3 – August 31 Non-resident applications will be accepted.
- August 31 Waitlists for the 2025-26 school year will dissolve.

- Apply problem-solving skills to real-life situations.

Seattle Preschool Program (SPP)
Current SPP+ families, if you are seeking to attend Seattle Public Schools for kindergarten, you must enroll your child in kindergarten. We always encourage enrolling early!
Applications for Seattle Preschool Program (SPP) open TBD. B.F. Day historically has a long wait list for our two SPP+ classes. Interested incoming preschool families, please mark your calendars to watch for the open date.
