Hispanic Heritage Month

Music, culture, and creativity came together in Ms. Grant’s classroom at B.F. Day Elementary as students explored Latin music through hands-on drumming activities in recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month.

By learning about musical traditions and practicing rhythmic patterns, students gained a deeper appreciation for the rich cultural influences and artistic contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities. Through active participation, they strengthened their listening and musical skills while experiencing the power of music to connect people across cultures.

As we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, we’re proud to highlight the ways students engage with diverse histories, traditions, and perspectives through the arts. These learning experiences help foster curiosity, cultural understanding, and a stronger sense of connection to the world around them.
