Personal Message

Hello! My name is Stephanie Tetrick. This is my 7th year at BF Day and I am so excited be part of the BF Day family.

This is my twenty-fourth year of teaching. I have taught English in Poland, third grade in Seattle and Costa Rica, Special Education in Bellevue, and 2nd grade in Everett. Teaching in Poland and Costa Rica were experiences I will never forget. It is amazing to share in other peoples' worlds and see how truly connected we all are. Some of my other passions are traveling, playing/watching sports, and being outdoors. The love for the outdoors and traveling was introduced to me at an early age by my parents. Teaching is also something that has been passed down from my family to me.

Our Classroom is dedicated to explorative learning and supporting each other.

This means that it is our goal in the Octopus Garden to becoming more intellectually, socially, and culturally well rounded individuals.  We are a community of learners in the classroom.  My expectation for my students is that they work hard to improve.  Mistakes are ok; it is how we learn and we cannot learn without trying.  I also expect my students, and myself, to be respectful of each other, of others outside of the classroom, and to embody the Pathfinder Charter.  In our classroom we respect all family types and will work to affirm that every child’s family type is normal, wonderful, and full of love.  It is our wish that every family feel welcome, be visible, respected, and informed
