Buses Only on Linden Ave. in the Morning
Please do not drop your child off from Linden Avenue. Instead, drop them off at Fremont Avenue. Linden Avenue is narrow, and we are not able to get buses through with cars parked or lingering on the curb. For example, one of our big buses was late dropping off students because of parents parked on Linden Ave. Please help us keep the buses coming and going by not dropping your child at the front of the school.
Walking Bus
Are you able to volunteer after school in September? We’re looking for adult chaperones that can help with a walking bus to Wallingford Boys and Girls Club. Please email Kyle Zeller, B.F. Day PTSA Volunteer Coordinator at volunteer@bfdayptsa.org.
Seattle Public School Bus Transportation
If you’re student will be taking the bus to or from school any days of the week, this information is for you. The SPS Transportation office will write you directly with your child’s route information, including the bus number and pick-up/drop-off locations. Please share this information with your child’s teacher, along with the daily plan for pick-up. Writing your bus information on your child’s back-pack is very helpful. We have two buses that go to Boys and Girls club, and the bus number matters for a smooth transition at the end of the day. Contact SPS Transportation directly if you haven’t received information or need to request an after‑school stop such as Boys & Girls Club. Parking
Parking at B.F. Day is extremely limited, so we recommend walking to school whenever possible. If you drive, please consider parking on Fremont Ave N or other side streets. Please remember there is a staircase from Fremont Ave N directly onto our playground. We recommend avoiding Linden Ave N., especially at dismissal time.

SPS Transportation
Seattle Public Schools provides free transportation for students who live within their school attendance area but outside the school’s walk zone.
If a student is placed in a program, such as deaf and hard of hearing services, that is not available in your neighborhood (attendance) area school, transportation is usually provided.
Transportation Eligibility Guidelines
- Elementary and K-8 schools have a 1-mile walk boundary. Eligible students are provided service primarily on yellow school buses.
- Middle schools have a 2-mile walk boundary. Service is either by yellow school bus or ORCA card for the Metro.
- High schools have a 2-mile walk boundary. Service is provided with an ORCA card.

Delayed Bus
Bus routes are sometimes delayed due to traffic, weather, construction, or other situations.
If your bus is late, we recommend your student stay at the bus stop. Please create a plan and discuss with your student what to do if their bus is late.
